KOTOBIAN TADAU KAAMATAN

Everywhere I go this recently, I can feel the kaamatan mood. Kaamatan is coming so soon.. it’s middle of the year ody rupanya.. just wishing every one Kotobian Tadau Tagazo Do Kaamatan..

The Kaamatan Festival is an annual celebration or event for Kadazandusuns in Sabah which is a thanksgiving to the source of the paddy and life cycle of Bambarayon - spirit of paddy. (Something like that lah..)

Drink a little bit of alcohol is good but stop drinking too much, get drunk will only spoilt your healthy especially the unfiltered local made alcohol.. I know Aramai tii is traditional custom and it's only once a year but get drunk is not necessary right.. anyway, up to individual la.. Besar sudah bah kamu tu.. Panda-pandai lah.. Jangan logop sampai tidur d siring jalan sudah, nanti langgar pantat karabau.. hehehehe..

One of my nephew’s birthday is on 30th May. It’s school holiday and long weekend for us who are working.. my bro bring her back from N.9 every year and celebrate her birthday in Sabah and it will be family gathering too. So I’m going back kg this weekend.. Yeahhh!! My sister in kg is ready everything for that and I’m in holiday mood now. What we going to do? We had ordered birthday cake of course, and we are planning to have steam boat, just very simple. You cook yourself what you want to eat, and I’m going to ready some cocktail for the kids.. It will be look like this:

Look nice right? The ingredient is just sausage, cedar cheese and pineapple + mayonnaise as sauce. Yummy.. simple but good taste. I’d tried this cocktail on last Christmas.
I miss my own cooking actually. I love to cook but my living environment doesn’t allow me to cook.

As for Kaamatan, the photos below are some local handicraft and traditional costume of some races. I’m proud and I love local culture. If I were a tourism minister (Cehh.. kalau bah kalau..), I’ll promote sabah’s culture so that it will not b wipe out from us like Japan, there are developed country but their culture is still strong with them until today. Here's some beautiful photos (not taken by me), just to share with you all..

QUITE A LONG....

Surprise? Nothing to surprise. Yes I can speak well in mandarin and broken Cantonese, I can read Chinese simplified and also Chinese traditional, and I able to write in Chinese. Long time didn’t read & write in Chinese, I think my Chinese knowledge already returned back to my teacher.. so here I’d wrote my blog in Chinese language to revise back those beautiful words.

Most of people even my friends, my colleagues and my boss never know that I can spoke, read and written in Chinese. Of coz I did write in my resume before, but they might forget about it. They only surprise about it after I’d worked with them almost 1 or 2 years. May b because of my look, doesn’t look like a Chinese and more look like a Bumiputra. 95% of people will speak malay or English with me when the 1st time they saw me and they never thought that I know Chinese. Of coz when they speak malay, I’ll reply them in my very fluent malay; when they speak English, I’ll reply them my broken English. Only if they speak mandarin, then I’ll reply them mandarin. If I’m the one who start the conversation, of coz I’ll speak Chinese with Chinese people but most of them will surprise.

I’m a Sino, Chinese mixed Dusun. I have 70% of Chinese blood and my sure name is Ng. I spoken very fluent mandarin with my family and relatives and we celebrate Chinese New Year, mooncake festival, Ko Chong Festival, Tang Yuan ect. Both of my grandfathers (father and mother side) are prior Chinese, both were came from China. Father side sure name is Ng; and my mother side sure name is Chai. My grandmother for father side is prior local Dusun; while my grandmother for my mum side is Sino too sure name is Kok. My dad, my mum even my grandma basically already are Sino. So I’m a Sino too when I came out to this world. Confuse? Ok you can forget it.

People always say, don’t judge a book by its cover. I’ve ever meet some people who gossiping me among them right in front of me in mandarin/Cantonese. Those people might think that I don’t understand. I don’t feel angry but I feel funny, I never scold those people back but just look straight into their eyes. They thought that they could laugh at me but actually I’m the one who laugh on them. So interesting..

I have one Chinese friend in kl before. He ever ask me:
“You are Sino, you are mix Chinese and the Bumi called Dusun. Let say one day, if Chinese people and Dusun people in Sabah have race war, which one will you support and go to?”

Hahahaha.. I feel funny. I just answer him that this kind of things will never happen in Sabah coz we are so united and no racist. I just hope it can be everlasting. I love Sabah and I always say I’m a Sabahan when I introduced myself. Seldom for me to say that I’m a Sino coz it’s complicated for a non-Sabahan to understand it. & I’m flexible mixing with any races. I’m proud to b a Sino and I’m proud to be a Sabahan.

Just look like an ordinary Bumiputra Sabah. Yes this is Sabah, Tg Aru 3rd Beach. Surfing day..

Some say, I look like an Indon. (Butterfly tu Bah! hahaha..)

Agnes Monica? Charles punya idea lah ni time di Indon..

Nichole Kidman? Wakakakak.. Oh no I'm not..

Change a background to a more chinese feel.

Still doesn't look like an Amoi? :)

Just showing that there is a lot of races in this photo and it's funny. Act cute but.. tidak jadi.

Anyway, I am who I am.. Hah.. :p

COMPLAINING..

Is it normal or abnormal when we unlike someone?
I don’t want to hate people but I really feel that I’m getting fed up and disrespect with somebody. Why?
Because the person who I mean love to measure other people and everything by money!
My parents told me, we will be bullied if we are uneducated but in the real life now days, we will be bullied if we have no money.

Yes money is so important, without money how to survive but come on.. It is not everything. You are saying that way because you’ve been pampered and feed by money all the time. In The mean time you are born, grow up and leave in a city which need such a BIG expenses everyday and you never experience kampung life.. You can’t survive and strong like kampung people when there is no money!
For me happiness is far more important. Anyway, this is only my own opinion and I’m not saying money is not important. Getting stable is good..

Money is your happiness? Then enjoy it and keep it yourself please and don’t always stick the money sign on everything including your words, face, mind, comparison and showing off.
1 more thing, please stop backbiting people especially own close friends.

To the readers, please don’t ask me the person I mean here is a he or she. Coz I’m sick.
I'm sorry, I know I'm not a perfect person too but it's true.. I'm sensitive with this sometimes..

SELLING MONEY

I'd found this from mudah.com. I was shocked to see this, I never expect money can be sell with so high price!

This is RM1 note, I don't know what's the special of this note. They are selling it for RM50 each.

Those shillings all are produced on 1968. Total is 80 sen and they are selling it for RM30. I think I can find this in my money box.

The shilling above is produced on 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987. Total is RM2.50 and they are selling it for RM60. I think I can find this from my money box too.

Old RM1 note. A bit cheaper but still a surprise for me. They are selling it for RM28 for 2 notes.

I have this note in my wallet now! They are selling it for RM30 each!

I still use this note this recently just like other RM5 but here they are selling it for RM50 each!

I'm still using this note recently. They are selling RM60 each! Huuu..

I still received this note recently but already used it. They are selling this for RM140 each!

They are selling this note for RM300 coz the number on the note is a bit beautiful, qb8221111.

This RM100 note been sold for RM550 because of the number, CB9909999.

They are selling this 2 RM50 notes for RM500. I've ever get running number for RM10 notes (4 pieces if i'm not mistaken) but I used it and never collected it, never expect it's such valuable for money collector.

I have this type of RM50 before. I still remember I get it from my ang pau. I've used it just like normal RM50 note and never collected it. And now they are selling it for RM90 each.

Money is so valuable.. But still unbelievable for me..

How To Avoid Ghost?

I received this forwarded email, regarding 'How To Avoid Ghost In A Hotel Room'. I'm not sure how true was it, for me most of the ghost story is non-sense. Anyway, it's up to individual to believe it or not. For me it's mengarut sometimes but, i did practice some of it(below) also. Hehehe.. (Apalah tu?) But my advice, don't too believe such ghost things and story 100% lah. Just read for fun k.. Here it goes..

For single hotels, there is at least one permanent room which should be left vacant at all times. No matter how full the hotel is, they are not to sell that room(s) to any guest. It is said that the special room is 'reserved' for those 'special visitors'.

So, if you plan to stay in some hotel, always book in advance.. Try to avoid walk-ins. If the receptionist tells you there's no more room available, do not insist to get one anymore or try to bribe them to give you a room. If you do that, most of the time the room you have will be that 'special room'.

Sometimes those 'special visitors' might go to other rooms also, so here's some tips on how to protect yourself..

Before entering your room, always knock on the door first, even if you know the room is vacant. After you enter the room, if you feel very cold suddenly and have 'chicken spore', leave the room quietly immediately and go to the reception to request to change room. Most of the time, the receptionist will understand what's happening..

After you enter the room, immediately switch on all of the lights, and open the curtain to let the sunlight in.
Before you go to bed, arrange your shoes so that one of them is upside down. Some say this represents yin and yang to protect you while you're asleep.

Always leave at least a lamp on while you're sleeping, preferably the toilet lamp.

If you're staying alone and they have give you a twin bed, do not sleep with the other bed vacant, try to put your things, like luggage, on the other bed before you sleep.

Here's another tip. When you enter your hotel room, look for the Bible. Most hotels place the Bible inside a drawer, however, if upon entering, you see the Bible on the table, DON'T STAY IN THAT ROOM. It means 'special visitors' are there.

If you see the Bible opened up on the table, LEAVE THAT ROOM IMMEDIATELY and request for a change of room! It means the 'special visitor' is really creating trouble in that room!

Here are some tips on protecting yourself in the cinema:
Do not attend the first screening of any movies in the cinema. By the first screening, I mean the first time the movie is shown in that particular cinema. What's the reason? The first screening is meant for the ‘special visitors'. However, if you insist on going, then sit somewhere in the middle. The first and last rows are reserved for 'them'. Be warned....

Ever notice the last row in your local Cineplex is always vacant? Now you know 'who' reserves the seats.

MAZU

1. A project to construct the multi-million ringgit Mazu project (Mazu Statute & temple).

2. It has been built on an individual land which had been bought by the Chinese organization, community & association.

3. The “Multi-Million Ringgit” came from donation of Chinese community & association, not government money.

4. Project had been approved by Kudat Town Board and the construction commenced and ordered the 118ft-high Mazu statute from China.

5. Project had been asked to stop once the statute arrived Sabah due to certain community's objecting to the construction.

6. The proximity with a local mosque being the main reason for the objection and the fatwa being issued by State Mufti on July 7, 2006 stating that the construction of the statue would offend Islam as unconstitutional because it infringes Article 11 of the Federal Constitution.

7. Kudat Town Board wanted to withdraw its earlier approval when it was already halfway to completion.

8. State government said later the project have it relocated.

This hot issue had been discuss since long time ago until today.. This is a sensitive issue, touching about religion, and getting more sensitive when there is politician involved in it. I am a normal citizen only able to open my eyes and watching those dramas.

However, sometimes we should respect, be tolerate among different religion and be open minded. I don’t really like there is some people who came in to start and set the fire on this issue which will destroy the unity among Sabahan/Malaysian. "Too" fanatic to a religion will only end up disunity among various religions and might also be races. The temple and statute above not only for praying for peace but indirectly economically good for Kudat and Sabah due to the place would be another selling point for Kudat as a tourist destination.

Anyway, feel happy with the end decision, which relocated the project in a new and suitable location. At least the project being continues. Well done..

YEAH!! IT'S MOTHER'S DAY..

I’ll going back to kg this weekend. Now I’m thinking what to ready for Mother's Day.. Last time me and my sister ever buy my mum cake, flower ect. I remember that is one time when I was in secondary school, I ever put efforts draw a rose using water color and given to my mum but she comment my drawing is very ugly.. hehahahaha.. sigh.. ok I admit it.

Mother’s Day is not the only day to appreciate our mum, we should always spend time and appreciate her all the time. So may b this time I’ll just go back kg spend time together, masak sedap2 & eat together.. :p

The photo below is my mum and my nephew with the peacock.

I myself realize that most of my attitude is more like my mum than my dad. Stubborn, go away quietly insist of quarreling & sometimes kuat merajuk. I know it’s negative, I control myself a lot actually. When I studied in KL before, she used to come to KL to look for me & my brother once in every few months. We ever tough that she might accidently arrive in India, coz she always flied alone and she doesn’t know speak and read English. Hehehe..

Other than that, my mum is loving every one of us especially the only of her son. She will merajuk if any one of us not layan her & she will start seeking attention.. hehehe.. She has a very sharp & shrill voice, however she never shouts at me loudly with that voice. Even though she always scold her grandson & grand daugther a lot (it’s everyday), but she loves every of them very much. Just imagine she alone look after 6 kids everyday due to my sis going to work. The oldest is 11 years old and the youngest is 5 months. It’s not easy to control so much kids in a house, but she manage to train those kids buka kulit pinang.. Hehehe.. She likes to eat red date and cannot eat any foods that contain margarine in it. Never ever push western food for her..

Whatever it is, I love my mum very much.. I’m so sorry for what had happen all this while.. I can’t spend all my time with her due to my study, my career and might b my future and.. I'm not a good girl for her.. I’m lucky I’ve a mum like her, taking care of me until who I am now.

Picture above is just showing my nephew yg mcm kuat & my mum at the back looking at the peacock..

I might take this opportunity to wish her Happy Mother’s Day with love.. For those mummy out there, happy mother’s day for all of you too..
I just hope that I will become a mother soon too.. :p

CAPTURE THE MOMENT

“Can I put your photo in my facebook?”
“ok”

After few days, another guy asking me:
“I put this photo into my facebook, is it ok?”
It’s my photo, I answered:
“I’m ok with it.”

Those guys are not my admirer. They are professional photographer and own very good camera. Taking photo is their hobby and they’ve taken a lot of my photo. According to them, I’m photogenic (minta puji.. hehehehe) and some of them did offering me to become their model just for testing their new camera. Later la… hehehe.. have to diet dulu sikit.. kakakakak..

Those photographers basically are a very artistic & creative group who are touching with art all the time coz they are working in architect firm. Most of them have their own camera excluding me coz always no budget to buy one even though I really wish to have my own camera.. poor me..

Although I’ve no camera but now I realized that I’ve so much photos.. all are taken by them.. Credited for them.. thanks.. at least I’ll have something to keep for my memory, & I’ll not forget the moment I’ve spend a little bit of my life with them.. and I haven’t receive some of the photos from them including the one they’re thinking to put into their facebook.

I attached here some photo of mine, which taken by them..
