I read a book, saying that the mummy apprearance during pregnancy will determine the brain development of the baby in tummy too. :)
I had decided to deliver my baby in Sabah coz I wanted my baby’s status as a Sabahan. Thank God for the strength, I’d managed to think positively all the time & went through everything without my man next to me for the 9 months pregnancy. Went through everything alone and only depends on public transport to work/everywhere everyday bringing a heavy tummy was tough, I use to get jealous with those pregnant woman that had been taking care by their hubby, but I understand that we have no choice and I still feel thankful. Glad that my body was really strong and good health, and I really proud with everything. We had to be apart for a better life in the future.
Normally woman deliver baby earlier than their due date so I took my maternity leave (but I’d resigned at the end) two weeks earlier from my expected deliver date as advised and went back to my home town for preparation. I thought that I was going to deliver earlier but no. I was late 3 days from my expected delivery date. 2 weeks time really gave me enough rest and enough time to mentally and physically prepare. Thanks to my family for the support and healthy food. 1 thing I will never forget and will tell my baby 1 day:
My little niece slaughtered durian for me every single day follow his mood. Yes I mean follow his mood at anytime. Sometimes 3 times a day.
I’d told him that I don’t like to eat durian and he answered me, “Give it to your baby eat la.” Such a pure kids thinking and I’m touch with his effort.
Not far away from Sabah Tea & Kg. Luanti Fish Massage.
Fish Massage. Oh Yes we manage to went there before my delivery together with my brother’s family and the kids.
Nothing happen on the day of my due date, I’d seek advice from my sis. It’s first time and of course I was worried however, my sis had comforted me and explained to me that it is normal to deliver a little bit late, just that have to count the baby movement very carefully. Unfortunately at the same night, I was bleeding, but only went and admitted into hospital on the next morning. Still blurred and clueless for everything. Normally delivery will only admitted into hospital for 1 day but guess what, I’d been admitted for 3 & half days. Yes I repeat 3 & half days. Staying in hospital was so boring of course but that particular 3 & half days really gave another real different great experience. Well, 1st time.. LOL.
A woman with 4 kids told me before, the pain of deliver a baby will be like 10 times of the pain of toothache. Of course I was thinking OMG but then after experienced it I do think that it actually depends on an individual. For me (after experienced it), toothache is more painful than deliver a baby, or could be same. The difference is, toothache will non-stop pain for few hours or may be few days in mouth while contraction before delivery will pain around 1 minute then stop, then feel pain again after next few minutes and keep on repeating that way in tummy. Just have to make sure that body is healthy and enough calcium then will be ok and doesn’t feel pain on the backbone and waist during delivery.
I personally felt that confinement is more terrible than delivery, with the same food everyday for the whole month and the really-tiring-attire and the 1-month-didn’t-washed-hair. Oppss.. What to do, that is a must for the sake of good health in the future and so do call berpantang. How to look after the baby if the mother is sick kan? I’m a bit wonder also why the body easily masuk angin and weak during confinement, cannot break the rules at all even 1 week.
Luckily I didn’t go for surgeon too as suggested by few friends. Yes surgery will never feel the pain of contraction but there is a lot of risk. There was a case that the baby’s ear been wrongly cut during operation, oh no can u imagine that? But there are still a lot of successful surgeries too. Nature and natural birth is still the best for both new born baby and the mother. Just have to prepare mentally and physically to be strong. Everything that I went through was really natural, unexplainable & funny feeling. Will try to tell more about it in my next entry. xoxo..
